Hartlebury Common BioBlitz 2019

Join us for a BioBlitz on Hartlebury Common on the 29th of June as we attempt to find and record as many species of plant and animal as we can throughout the day.  




There will be ongoing activities and also a programme of walks and talks from local wildlife experts.  The provisional programme is as follows:

9am - 10am: Emptying the moth traps (which will be set the night before)

10am - 11am: Pond dipping

11am - 12noon: Dragonfly walk

12 noon - 1pm: Bee and wasp hunt

1pm - 2pm: History of Hartlebury Common, walk & talk.

2pm - 3pm: Butterfly survey

3pm - 4pm: Dung beetle hunt


Location: Hartlebury Common – HQ is at the car park of the Old Rose & Crown Pub, Worcester Rd, Hartlebury, DY13 9PA

This is a free event, open to everyone so please feel free to drop in throughout the day!

Facilities: The Old Rose & Crown have kindly offered the use of their toilets throughout the day.  Participants in the BioBlitz will receive a voucher for a free hot drink at the pub.  Meals and snacks are available to purchase from the pub.


Please note: we will also be running two free moth activities the night before the bioblitz to record the evening and night flying moths of the common. These are free to attend but booking is essential as we can only have a limited number of people attending this part of the bioblitz.
