Beginners guide to identifying British mammal bones

This beginner’s guide focusses on the twelve most prevalent wild and domestic mammals in the UK. The guide is not intended for specialists or to be exhaustive, as identifying the full range of bones and teeth from all UK species would be prohibitively detailed. However, many of the remains found in the UK, particularly in urban and agricultural locations, are those of domestic animals, so it is useful to recognise these early. For this reason, the guide has clearly separated wild from domestic animals to help the reader distinguish between the two.
